To date, no comprehensive research has been conducted on women and their role in the University of Padua. The time has now come to let the silence of our history speak as well, starting from a detailed census survey of the female presence in the University. The goal is to reconstruct the identity and the role of female students and scholars of the University over time, what specific networks and spaces they are able to conquer and build within the context of the University of Padua, and the role of female scholars and teachers of Padua in the circulation of knowledge within a European context; how the different phases experienced by the university affect women, but also how family experiences before and after the university affect the research life of these female students and scholars.
