Founded on January 30, 1922, the Centre for the History of the University of Padua (Centro per la storia dell’Univesrità – CSUP) is an institute for the history of the University itself. A 100 years later, CSUP is pleased to welcome visitors to the Centre virtually, offering access to databases, texts, and virtual exhibitions.
For the University of Padua’s 800th Anniversary, the Centre for the History of the University promotes numerous editorial initiatives.
Clarissimi – The Great Masters
The 2020 inauguration of the Clarissimi book series shares the most significant cultural experiences and testimonies to the world of academics in Padua.
Deliberately devoid of notes and scholarly apparatuses, each book includes bibliographies for in-depth study as qualified and easily accessible guides to those who brought esteem and admiration to the University of Padua over the centuries.
Contributing to the History of the University of Padua
The 1964 inauguration of the published series offers contributions to the history of the University of Padua, ranging from the Middle Ages to the contemporary age. In addition to monographs and miscellaneous collections, proceedings from the conferences organised by the Centre for the History of the University of Padua are included.
