The Unipd cycling relay through the oldest universities in Europe arrives in Padua on June 18. The Unipd rector Daniela Mapelli, Antonio Paoli, pro-rector, and Diego Bonavina (Comune di Padova) welcome the team.
The University of Padua crossed, with traditional bikes and its nine cycling teams, four countries: Great Britain, France, Spain and finally Italy, involving six of the ancient Universities in Europe (Oxford, Cambridge, Paris Sorbonne, Salamanca, Bologna e Padua).
Their travel journal is online, with photos, videos and words.
Their journey has been as memory of the medieval scholares vagantes who crossed borders in search of a common culture, as well as a reference to modern international students’ mobility.
