Now in its sixth edition, the Sustainable Development Festival aims to raise awareness and mobilize the local community on issues related to economic, social and environmental sustainability. Events of the festival welcome audiences of all ages as well as local businesses, associations and institutions by spreading the culture of sustainability. The ultimate goal is to achieve the cultural and political change needed for Italy to support the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
Promoted by ASviS (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) in collaboration with RUS (Network of Universities for Sustainable Development) the festival is the largest initiative in Italy for the promotion of economic, social and environmental sustainability issues.
The University of Padua has created and promoted the “Sustainable UniPadova” project, as a container and catalyst for initiatives aimed at sustainability. On one hand, the project aims to coordinate and give visibility to the actions organized by the University on the subject of sustainability by involving the entire university community including students, staff and governing bodies. While, on the other hand, the project promotes and supports the launch of new sustainability initiatives that focus on the development and implementation of good practices as well as their transfer and dissemination within the university community and the local community.
For this edition of the Festival, the University of Padua has organized an array of events including conferences, seminars and workshops made possible thanks to the contribution of the entire academic and student community.
