In celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the University of Padua, the Rotary of Padua presents a new book entitled Nel segno della conoscenza. I docenti universitari nel Rotary Club Padova. Published in 2022 by CLEUP, will donate proceeds from book sales during the presentation to the University of Padua.
Opening introductions by the University of Padua Rector Daniela Mapelli and the Rotary Club of Padua President Emanuele Cozzi (a.r. 2021-2022). Welcomed speakers include Rotary Club President Marco Petrin (a.r.2022-2023), and members of the books editorial committee Maristella Agosti, Alessandro Calegari, Angelo Gatta and Claudio Griggio.
The book offers a biographical dictionary of 74 educators and members of Padua’s Rotary Club who taught at the University of Padua. The stories of those who were inspired by knowledge as told through a series of events starting with the founding of the Padua chapter of the Rotary Club in 1949. Those who dedicated their lives to education and the community of Padua become evident with the roles they played in the University and their contributions to society.
Academic and external experts from the humanities, medical, technical, scientific and legal sectors wrote the book as a collaborative tribute to the University in celebration of its 800th Anniversary.
The book presentation is an opportunity to explain the conception and design of the volume by sharing important aspects of the experiences and results achieved by the members of the Club, who thus become leading examples for young people and how they too can contribute to their community.
Participation is by invitation only. Contact the operational secretariat of the Padua Rotary Club for more details at firstname.lastname@example.org
