The Aula Magna of Palazzo Bo hosts the event “A Padova sono venuto, come chi lascia uno stagno per tuffarsi nel mare”. Storie di studenti e studentesse nei secoli (I arrived in Padua, like those who leave a pond to dive into the sea. Stories from students over the centuries.) Curated by Andrea Pennacchi, Maria Cristina La Rocca and Giulia Zornetta, the event also presents Database Bo2022, which has collected over 50,000 names of Italian, European, and international students and graduates of Padua from 1222 to 1989. In fact, student mobility is one of the constitutive forms of European culture.
Speakers include Gianluigi Baldo (Director of Dissgea), Annalisa Oboe (Disll), Maria Cristina la Rocca (Dissgea), and Giulia Zornetta (Dissgea).
Following the new database presentation, the story of the varied community of people who studied in Padua during the crucial phase of life for their intellectual and professional future are shared through readings from Andrea Pennacchi, Giulia Briata, and Lorenzo Maragoni, and the live music performance from Giorgio Gobbo.
Reservations are closed.
The University of Padua’s YouTube channel streams the event online.
The event is part of the Celebratory Days series for the 800th Anniversary of the University of Padua.
