The University of Padua Department of Physics and Astronomy (DFA) organizes the Padua and the New Quantum Computing Challenge Conference at the Beato Pellegrino Complex on Friday, April 8.

As the leader and coordinator of the Quantum Computing and Simulation Center (QCSC) Project, the DFA conference shares details on its plans for the future and impact the project places in the Veneto Region, in Italy, and within the international scene. Co-financed by the University of Padua and a consortium of research bodies, the QCSC Project offers an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary approach to face future challenges thanks to the advent of quantum computing and a scalable quantum processor to solve complex problems more efficiently.

The conference begins with an institutional greeting from Rector Daniela Mapelli, followed by experts in the sector to discuss strategically important topics under the European vision and the Italian panorama of quantum technology. The QCSC Project underlines the commitment of the Veneto Region in becoming a reference center for the regional and national industrial applications on the future challenges posed by the advent of quantum computing.

The conference concludes with statements from Prof Flavio Seno, the Director of the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padua.
Participation in the event is by invitation only. The event will be streamed online on YouTube.
