Coinciding with the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua, the Centre for the History of Padua activities began 100 years ago thanks to its initiation by Antonia Favaro in 1922.
Il passato nel futuro: la storia delle università. Ricerche e prospettive nel centenario del CSUP is an international conference promoted by the Centre for the History of the University of Padua (CSUP) thanks to the patronage of the University of Padua and the International Commission for the History of Universities (ICHU) that aims to draw a link between the past and the present.
Hosted in the Aula Nievo of Palazzo Bo from 30 November to 2 December, the conference offers four sessions that welcome international and national guests and experts.
The first day includes talks that touch upon relevant issues of university historiography and a view of the globalization of higher education. The second day includes talks on institutional policies towards the gender and social mobilization of students as well as the cultural heritage of universities and academic training.
The last day of the conference welcomes representatives from other active centres, like that of CSUP, from across Italy for a round table discussion on current research projects and future prospects of a transversal nature.
The conference is part of the schedule of events in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua.
The webinar takes place in person and online.
