Welcoming Alberto Mantovani, the Italian physician and immunologist as the keynote speaker for the Freedom and Scientific Research event, which is the second meeting in the Lessons on Freedom series.

The four part Lessons on Freedom series is dedicated to the ideas of freedom, explored through different perspectives.

Following Mantovani’s lecture, former University of Padua Rector and biomedical researcher Professor Rosario Rizzuto is welcomed to the stage. The meeting concludes with readings by the students of the school of the Teatro Verdi.

To participate, registration for the event is required on the Teatro Stabile del Veneto website beginning March 3.

Organized to celebrate the University’s 800th Anniversary, each meeting from the Lessons on Freedom series is held on Sunday mornings in March at Padua’s Teatro Verdi.

Alberto Mantovani, MD, is Emeritus Professor at Humanitas University and Scientific Director of the Istituto Clinico Humanitas. He trained and worked at the Chester Beatty Research Institute, London, UK, and at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA. He served as Head of Department of Immunology and Cell Biology, Istituto Mario Negri, Milan, Italy. He has contributed to the advancement of knowledge in the field of Immunology formulating new paradigms and identifying new molecules and functions. He is one of the most quoted immunologists. For his research activity he has received several national and international awards.
