The Centro di Ateneo per la storia della Resistenza e dell’età contemporanea (CASREC) of the University of Padua, as part of the celebrations for the University’s 800th Anniversary, organizes the I giuristi padovani e la costruzione dello Stato liberale (Jurists from Padua and the Building of the Liberal State) conference.
The conference takes place in person (with open admission) and online as a webinar (by registration only) and aims to offer an analysis of University of Padua Law professors whose contributions lay the foundation for the building of the Italian state.
The day begins with institutional greetings from Filippo Focardi (CASREC Director) Giuseppe Zaccaria (CASREC Honorary President) and Gianni Parenzo (President of the Jewish Community of Padua).
Chaired by Giuseppe Zaccaria, the conference includes talks by Marco E.L. Guidi (University of Pisa) on Giuristi ed economisti nell’Italia liberale, Giulia Simone (University of Padua) Alla prova della contemporaneità. L’Università di Padova in età liberale, and Gadi Luzzato Voghera (CDEC Foundation) Intellettuali protagonisti dell’integrazione ebraica in Italia.
A roundtable chaired by Chiara Maria Valsecchi follows, welcoming Adolfo Locci, Chiara Maria Valsecchi, Alba Lazzaretto, Giovanni Luigi Fontana, Stefano Solari, Gianfranco Tussset..
