In conjunction with the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua (1222-2022), this conference allows us to reflect and remember some of the greatest minds whose knowledge significantly contributed to the advancement of medicine. The conference has been organized by Organized by Gaetano Thiene, Fabio Zampieri, Alberto Zanatta.
Padua wasn’t the only leader in the extraordinary adventure of the medical sciences, as such, we welcome experts in the history of modern and contemporary medicine from other Italian universities to speak.
Many Italian scientists have contributed significantly to the development of medicine. In this conference we rember: Edoardo Bassini, Giulio Bizzozzero, Maurizio Bufalini, Carlo Forlanini, Camillo Golgi, Giovanni Filippo Ingrassia, Giovanni Maria Lancisi, Giuseppe Levi, Cesare Lombroso, Giovanni Battista Morgagni, Bernardino Ramazzini, Antonio Scarpa, Marco Aurelio Severino, Lazzaro Spallanzani, Giorgio Valla e in tempi più recenti Luigi Condorelli, Renato Dulbecco, Vincenzo Gallucci and Rita Levi-Montalcini.
