Ascanio Celestini sets the stage at Padua’s Teatro Verdi for the national debut of the performance especially written in honour of the 800th anniversary of the University of Padua: “Storie di persone“. The performance shares stories of freedom. Including those who have conquered what it is to be free thanks to their studies or innate curiosity, and those who have achieved freedom through intense moments of anger or fear. Produced by Fabbrica Srl, the performance features Gianluca Casadei, Alessio Lega and Rocco Marchi,
The performance includes a story of someone chained to their work and their ignorance but who unhinge themselves from these heavy links thanks to a hidden secret. There is the story of someone becoming free only after they had stopped thinking about their chains. There is the story of someone who found himself faced with knowledge but who came to see that their knowledge had become a building without doors. There is also the story of someone who could not be free, as they rather give up everything because they had nothing and could only be freed from freedom itself.
Italian actor, director and playwright, Ascanio Celestini has been performing in theatres since 1996.
