Developed by the Department of Cultural Heritage (DBC), the 8×8: 8 storie per 8 secoli initiative continues with the second part the Century ‘Zero’ event. Proposed by the professors and researchers of DBC, the multidisciplinary schedule of events aims to illustrate the connection between academic and city life in celebration of the University of Padua’s 800th Anniversary.
Part two of the Century ‘Zero’ event takes place on Saturday, March 26 at the Musei Civici di Padova (Musei Eremitani), with welcomed speakers Maria Stella Busana, Silvia Paltineri, Monica Salvadorie, and Massimo Vidale for a conference on “Culture, economy, and society in ancient Padua”
Two guided tours are also scheduled, beginning with a tour of the Archaeological Museum curated by Francesca Veronese in collaboration with Vanessa Baratella, Mareva De Frenza, Alessandra Didonè, Veronica Gallo, Micol Masotti, and Luca Scalco on “Objects that speak: a journey of ancient Padua.” The second tour takes place at the Bottacin Museum curated by Michele Asolati in collaboration with Alessandro Cattaneo on “From the Drachma to Bitcoin: The Bottacin Collection and the history of currency”.
The day concludes at the Sala dei Giganti with a theatrical performance of “Eroi” by Andrea Pennacchi accompanied by the music of Giorgio Gobbo and Sergio Marchesini.
