The 8×8: storie per 8 secoli initiative continues with events on Saturday, October 8 that explore the history of the University of Padua during the eighteenth century.
Proposed by the professors and researchers of the Department of Cultural Heritage (DBC), the multidisciplinary schedule of events aims to illustrate the connection between academic and city life in celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the University of Padua.
Coordinated Francesco Scalora and Andrea Tomezzoli, the day begins with a lecture by Andrea Tomezzoli on Padova settecentesca: testimonianze pittoriche e letterarie held at the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art in Palazzo Liviano.
Followed by a schedule of guided tours throughout Padua. Simone Fatuzzo offers a visit to Palazzo Bo, entitled li studenti greci:la Sala dei Quaranta e il cortile del Bo. Chiara Lo Giudice, Chiara Bombardini, Emanuele Principi, Iana Sokolova, and Andrea Chiocca organize a visit to the museum and library of Padua’s Basilica of Saint Anthony, entitled I capolavori pittorici del Settecento nel cuore della Fede e del Sapere, and a guided tour of Prato della Valle, entitled La piazza della modernità: visita guidata al Prato della Valle.
