The Student Association – UDU Padua (Union of University students), on the contest of Next, the Engineering Festival (from 11 to 13 May at Porta Portello) in collaboration with Science the Science Toolbox Festival taking place between May 9 and May 11 at various Science Departments of the University of Padua, organizes some events on May 13.

The first, Automated world and workers’ rights: how do they coexist?, 5 p.m.
To talk about the evolution of the labor market, precariousness, the “brain drain” and the protections enjoyed or not by workers from the S.T.E.M. area. a representative of CGIL, one of Tech Workers Coalition and Erta (Tiktoker that raises awareness of the world of work) to talk about the evolution of the labor market, precariousness, the “brain drain” and the protections enjoyed or not by workers from the S.T.E.M. area.

The second event, Ethics and gender bias in artificial intelligence, 7 p.m.
The final conference of the festival, hosts professors Silvana Badaloni and Antonio Rodà. With them, Professor Francesca Susin (Elena Cornaro Center) discusses and analyzes the issue of gender and how it affects deep learning algorithms. She also talks about how to reduce as much as possible the gender bias that goes into the process.

At 10.30 p.m. the concert of the band Antartica.

The events are part of the review of initiatives organized by the Union of University Students as part of the 800th Anniversary Celebrations.
